One last shot from the Enver shop restoration shop series showing the proud owner of this restored R60. Thanks for sharing all the photos with us Jhune! Four or five screens back there was a photo of an R51/3 in need of restoration. Here's the same bike today - two years later. A beautiful looking machine. Taken in Europe was this photo of a prewar R51 racer. Another shot of the same bike, showing the Hoske total loss timing cover and the tach drive off the R51 oil pump shaft. In 2003 I was lucky enough to be able to attend the Vintage BMW MayDay rally here in the US. I have not been there in many years, and it was good to be back. This R39 single was there, and it was the first one I've ever seen in person. This R32 was also at the show, brought by the same person that had the R39 (seen here in the background), along with an R12. Among the many things for sale at the show was this Steib S500 sidecar. Overall it was very complete and needing just a new home and a good restoration. Believe it or not, this was just a fraction of what was available there at the show. This is just what I brought along as spares.
This rolling basket case plunger twin was also at the show for sale. The clipons looked interesting so I took a photo to post on the web. Even fans of police bikes found items of interest for sale at the rally. Here are a set of /7 shielded ignition coils and plug wires that were for sale. |
