A Hoske tank that was recently for sale. Though I've never seen one in person, I know from looking at period literature that Hoske made a few large tanks for the /5 machines. This looks like it could be one of them. This may also be a /5 Hoske, this time up close. The /5 & newer style front mount is clearly seen in this shot. What's unusual is the bracket that would seem to rest on the frame downtube. Top view of the same tank. Just a normal more modern GS style tank, but it looked so interesting by itself in this photo that I thought it would be fun to share. It must be because they remind me so much of the early bikes, but there's something about a toolbox tank that always appeals to me. Judging by the paint, this /7 tank looks to have been black its whole life. I spotted this bike out on the internet and thought it was interesting. Can anyone identify this tank? Here is a view of the whole bike. This /5 or newer Heinrich was interesting for two reasons: One, the indent in the tunnel area, and Two, the ID tag on the bottom. This tank was made by Werner Reinschluessel, who took over tank production in 1981from Karl Heinrich. Here is a close up shot of that ID tag. Werner Reinschluessel (RW on the tag) made these tanks from 1981 to 1984, when he transferred the rights over to Jeckel. The code 208 indicates that this tank is made for R80 G/S, and holds 40 liters. The number 743 is the serial number. |
